That was the impression I got the most from residents of Kabul. Taliban is still widely active in the area. By mass killings of the Hazaras (the minority Shia community) to sending death threats to many activists and carrying out suicide bombings and attacks which have claimed many lives, the Taliban makes its presence felt in every corner of the Afghan land.
Yet, it seems many Afghans have decided to embrace the relative fragile peace and live out their lives to the fullest. The sense of hope for a better Afghanistan seems to neutralize the Taliban better than any military tactic.
